Carolina Coliseum

Located on the University of South Carolina campus is the Carolina Coliseum.  This is where you can watch the USC basketball team play in addition to seeing concerts, presentations, trade shows, exhibitions, conventions, and special events such as the circus, ice shows or the rodeo.  Opened in November 1968, the Carolina Coliseum is the site of the University’s commencements, convocations, registrations, seminars, lectures, and activities of professional organizations.  It was the University’s need for a facility where intercollegiate athletics could be played as well as a place for cultural and entertainment activities of the University that prompted it to be built. 

Aside from University events, The Carolina Coliseum is also available for rent if you need a large space for an event.  The arena has a total of 12,500 seats and it has 20,000 square feet of floor space that can accommodate up to 1,800 people for a banquet.  The concourse area contains 30,000 square feet and is ideal for exhibits and trade shows.  The arena and concourse combined give you a total floor space of 50,000 square feet.  Within the Carolina Coliseum is also a meeting room, which accommodates receptions for up to 125 people.
